Mr. Harris began his artistic career in his pre-teens, working on numerous community theater productions in his hometown of Longmont, Colorado. It was during those formative years that he simultaneously taught himself oil painting and sculpture whilst learning to play the drums. The pursuit of fine arts garnered an acceptance to the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, but Peter declined the opportunity, instead choosing a more adventurous artistic path fraught with greater difficulties, but even greater rewards.
Moving to Los Angeles as a young man, seeking like so many a career in the film business, he gained a wealth of experience working every angle of a film set possible. As director, producer, writer, editor and actor in several short films (ranging from 8 to 35mm) he learned to navigate the challenging world of film and video production. Work on his own short films was complimented by numerous commercial and feature productions, including a co-producer credit on an indie full-length titled "NoHo."
Taking heed from Orson Welles ominous review of his own career as a waste (spending 95% of his time hustling, leaving 5% for true filmmaking), Mr. Harris made a hard choice to put off his pursuit of a film career (seeing that he was walking the same path as Welles, spending more time on the pursuit of filmmaking versus the actual task). This choice coincided with the birth of the internet, thereby opening up a new creative outlet.
Teaching himself HTML and graphic design from scratch, Mr. Harris gradually gained enough experience to receive an offer from McCartney Multimedia.
The opportunity has been a culmination of many previous artistic pursuits for Mr. Harris, allowing him to fuse his fine arts, film and music sensibilities into one medium. He is excited at the changes facing so many industries during the explosion of the digital information era and delights in participating in the sea change this new technology has given the world.
