Michael has produced some of the most significant interactive Internet sites and services in the 1990's, first as a Producer for Ikonic Interactive and later as a Partner and Executive Producer for DAWG, the Digital Artists and Writers Group. Michael came to work with McCartney Multimedia from GlobalNet Ventures (a technology / entertainment VC incubator) and ISL Consulting (Internet professional services) where he was an Executive Producer responsible for the development and launch of new Internet services for Chevron, NationsBanc Montgomery Securities, Amnesty International/Excite, Banc Boston and Bankers Trust.
Prior to ISL Consulting, Michael's productions included being on the design and development teams of Pathfinder and ParentTime for Time Warner, the Windows and Internet Explorer 3.0 launches for Microsoft, the Gap On-line Store, the Virgin Records America Internet site, the Amnesty International Internet site and the 1997 online brand re-launch of MasterCard. He has also championed the development of interactive television programming ("Hal's Legacy" to air Nov./2001 on PBS) and helped to prototype Time, Inc.'s "News on Demand". Michael has also collaborated closely with Real Networks, Macromedia and Microsoft in developing showcases for their Real Media, Flash Generator, Shockwave and ActiveX technologies. He is a frequent commentator on CNN, CNet and ZDTV regarding new media entertainment issues; specifically music and the Internet.
Michael is also an experienced musician and producer. Past projects include recording and producing new versions of "Get Up Stand Up" with Peter Gabriel, John Lee Hooker and Ritchie Havens for Amnesty International's Stand Up for Human Rights campaign.
Michael graduated Bennington College and holds BAs in Political Science and Musical Composition. Michael also studied at George Washington University Law School in general law studies.
