Paul McCartney began the latest leg of his One on One tour with a lengthy show at the American Airlines Arena in Miami last night (July 7). The set list, which can be viewed below along with fan-shot video of the concert, contained his earliest recorded song and some of his most recent ones.One-third of the way through the evening, he broke into “In Spite of All the Danger,” which he and George Harrison wrote in 1958 when they were in the Quarrymen. The recording was released in 1995 on the first disc of the Anthology trilogy. But he also didn’t ignore his 21st century output, playing “My Valentine,” three songs from New — “Save Us,” “Queenie Eye” and “New” — and “FourFiveSeconds,” his hit 2015 collaboration with Rihanna and Kanye West.In addition to Harrison, who was honored with “Something,” he also paid tribute to the other two Beatles. He sang his song about John Lennon. “Here Today” — as well as the Lennon-penned “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite” — and he dedicated “Birthday” to both Ringo Starr, who turned 77 yesterday, and his father, Jim, who was born on July 7, 1902.While many of the chestnuts expected from a McCartney concert — “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Let It Be,” “Maybe I’m Amazed,” “Live and Let Die,” “Band on the Run,” “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude” — were played, he does an admirable job of rotating songs from his vast catalog. On this night, and on recent legs of the One on One tour, he’s brought out “You Won’t See Me,” “Love Me Do,” “Temporary Secretary” and Wings‘ “Letting Go.”The concert was supposed to take place two days earlier but, according to SouthFlorida.com, it was pushed back two days to a desire to make “production enhancements.” McCartney’s tour continues on Monday in Tampa and will run through July 25 in Tinley Park, Ill. He’ll also play a handful of dates in the Northeast and Detroit between Sept. 11 and Oct. 1. You can see the complete calendar here.Paul McCartney, American Airlines Arena, July 7, 2017 Set List
