THE Cavern Club, the legendary venue famed for hosting the Beatles in their early days, first opened its doors to the public 60 years ago today. After opening as a jazz venue on 16 January 1957, it didn’t take long before the Cavern Club had established itself as the centre of Liverpool’s rock and roll scene.
