Sean Lennon’s latest project a ‘Delirium’ – Orlando Sentinel

The title track to “The Monolith of Phobos” by The Claypool Lennon Delirium kicks off the album with two minutes of deep, abstract noise before coalescing around the story of an astronaut given a vision of impending destruction. “Les [Claypool] doesn’t make music for wimps,” says the duo’s other half, Sean Lennon.The son of rock royalty John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon came into this project already a fan of Claypool, best known as the frontman and bassist of alternative metal trio Primus. “A lot of my friends who are musicians were super inspired by Primus,” says Lennon, 40. He discovered them for himself around age 16. “They’re a musicians’ band.””The Monolith of Phobos,” the debut album for the collaboration, releases on Friday, June 3. The band is launching its tour on Saturday, June 4, at The Beacham in Orlando. From there it goes to Tampa and then more than 30 more stops around the country.
