A few days after the Foo Fighters frontman performed “Blackbird” at the Oscars, Pearl Jam has shared a video of Eddie Vedder playing the Beatles classic live, albeit eight years ago. The performance was originally filmed for the film Water on the Road, which documented Vedder’s 2008 solo tour.“Blackbird” isn’t the only Beatles song in Vedder’s repertoire — he’s also contributing a cover of “Magical Mystery Tour” to Beat Bugs, an upcoming animated Netflix show that’ll incorporate various new versions of Beatles tunes into its storylines. Other musicians contributing Beatles covers to Beat Bugs include Chris Cornell, The Shins, Of Monsters and Men and James Bay.Perhaps Vedder will bust out his cover of “Blackbird” again on Pearl Jam’s forthcoming spring and summer tour, which kicks off April 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.Copyright © 2016, ABC Radio.
